Treatment Approach
Because each person is unique and has individual goals, we integrate different theories and techniques to meet your specific needs.
Person Centered Interpersonal Focus:
The relationship between client and counselor is an essential component to the therapeutic process. Your ability to feel safe and comfortable in the relationship is the first step toward beginning to explore your story and find healing. We are committed to providing a non-judgmental, kind, and safe place for you to be heard.
Trauma-Informed:
Trauma recovery begins with reestablishing safety, helping you rebuild what it means to be safe physically, emotionally, or in a relationship. Once we build this foundation we can work together to begin exploring your story and its impact on you today. Sometimes this reprocessing can be done through talk therapy, at other times it is beneficial to include EMDR therapy to supplement the healing process. Learn more about EMDR in this blog post.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT):
Attachment & Family Systems:
Attachment and Family Systems theory looks at our earliest attachments and relational dynamics in order to help us identify your current relationship styles. We can use these theories as a lens to explore your internal and external relating style and deepen your self-understanding in order to make sense of your current relational patterns. When we understand where we have come from, we can better begin to change where we want to go. Learn more about attachment styles in this blog post.
